About this deal

Shed and garage alarms that come with a remote control can be armed and disarmed from a distance. They tend to work using either radio signals, or infrared. We have reviewed the best alarms for sheds. These type of alarms would also be suitable for caravans, garages and any type of external building. There are certainly plenty to choose from. Some of them are crazy money, but thankfully some of them are well priced. Remote controls also make it possible to disarm the alarm from a distance, often whilst still standing in the doorway of the shed, and may be less stressful than remembering and entering a keycode. What I like about this alarm is that it is so easy to set up. There are no wires or anything like that, you simply pop the batteries in, and then use some double-sided tape to fix the device in place. It only takes a few moments to complete the whole installation, and then you’re ready to get on with your day.

The 100dB alarm will sound if motion has been detected and the correct 4 digit PIN code has not been entered within 10 seconds of entering. Another annoying thing about the Kerui alarm set, is that there is no automatic reset. So, if you accidentally trigger the alarm, you have to remove the batteries from the sensor and then unplug the siren itself. Then there is a waiting period of about a quarter of an hour until you can set it up again. It’s hardly the most convenient design. The Yale Shed and Garage Alarm is the ideal way to secure buildings outside of the main home. It is simple install and can be wall mounted or can be freestanding. Vibration sensor is very sensitive which can lead to false alarms - this function can be turned off The alarm comes with 2 small, portable remote controls on key chains. These are used to arm/ disarm the alarm and come with batteries includedMy name is Enda and like to write about the things I enjoy such as DIY, eating and drinking. I write here about those things I have real interest in and hopefully it will help our readers. I also sealed off my shed properly, so that it was very difficult for any scurrying little rodents or other unwanted members of the animal kingdom to get in there, and as I said there was an improvement, but every now and then the alarm would still trip. Sirens should be loud! At least 100 Db. But preferably louder. The more noise your shed alarm makes the bigger the fright it will give the thief. And the more likely they are to flee empty handed. Phone / Text Message

Unless you can position the unit out of reach, two separate pieces are better as it enables you to position the siren in a difficult to access area. Three of the Best Shed Alarms But some garages can be quite spacious. In which case, you might need a garage alarm with multiple sensors. Are the sensor and the siren separate or part of the same unit? There is one remote included, which perhaps isn’t as useful as the two that are included with the Tech Traders shed alarm; however, it does still mean that the alarm can be positioned out of the way and make it harder to tamper with. Along with the alarm come two identical remote controls, and this can come in very handy if you’ve got more than one person who wants to access the shed, or older children sharing the house who come home after you’ve gone to bed. All they have to do is press the disarm button to enter the shed or house without disturbing you too much. You could also use a GSM alarm in conjunction with a normal alarm. The normal alarm could go off with a siren while the GSM alarm stealthily alerts you to the break in. Then it wouldn't matter if the thief manages to disable the normal alarm. Other things to look out for in a shed alarm... Does the shed alarm have a low battery indicator?Specification: Loud Siren: 105dB, Battery Type: ‎Alkaline 4 x AA batteries, Remote control range: 110° scanning area

Some products may be delivered straight to your door from one of our suppliers and these products will be labelled within the product description. Specification: Loud Siren: 125db, Battery Type: ‎Alkaline 3 x AA batteries, Remote control range: 328ft/100mThe alarm consists of two units that are placed on either a door frame and door or a window frame and window. These door and window sensors recognise when the door/window has been opened when the magnetic link between the two parts is broken.

If you want several people to have access to the shed, a limited number of remote controls can be inconvenient . Door and window sensors can be more reliable, but it’s not always possible to fit them to a wooden shed door and doorframe or a garage side door without some modifications. Is there anything else worth looking out for? This kit has a siren horn which according to buyers is loud, and most importantly loud enough to scare the XXXX out of thieves. The horn is weatherproof and has a noise level of up to 110 db (that is LOUD) On the other hand, the 104 DB siren isn't as loud the Tiiwee's and everything is a fair bit more expensive. So I suppose it depends whether the extra features seem worth it to you. 3. Best Phone Enabled Shed Alarm: UltraPIR GSM At 115 decibels the siren is loud enough to wake people up, so keep this in mind when deciding where to place it. The speaker is very simple and there is no way to adjust the volume, nor is there a silent arm and disarm function, so you might find your neighbours getting annoyed with you if you are playing with the device early in the morning or late at night. If the alarm system detects a break in it will ring or text the phone numbers you've provided. You are then able to turn the shed alarm off and/or disable further detection via your phone. More sophisticated alarms are able to take multiple readings from multiple angles to reduce the chances of mistakes... The main benefit of having an alarm with a code is that several people can have the ability to disarm the alarm. This means that different family members can know how to disarm and re-arm the alarm, without all needing separate keys. The motion sensor itself is effective without going overboard – it doesn’t seem to be set off by inconsequential things like spiders or anything outside the shed, but will sound if there’s movement inside.
