He is a retired military soldier who is broke and wounded when he starts a PI company. Rowling’s first novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, was published in 1997. J.K. Even his relationship with Lucy is somewhat fraught, and Strike finds himself becoming closer to Robin, who has always wanted to be a detective, than he at first feels entirely comfortable with.
