Bought the mouse at 1500 and it feels great to hold. Since I have a palm grip, this mouse completely suits me. Also recommended for those having a claw grip. For the review of the Steelseries Rival 100 & Rival 300, I thought I’d do something a little different, a side-by-side to see how these two tiers of gaming mice compare. I have the Steelseries Rival 300 in white on the left, and a red Steelseries Rival 100 on the right. Steelseries is considered to be one of the best gaming mouse manufacturers on the market due to their reputation for quality and the longevity of their products. So let’s see what they got. A few customization options are available for the Rival 100 through SteelSeries Engine. For starters, all the buttons are programmable. Another neat feature is the option to set customized macros. And finally, there are the options to adjust CPI settings, lighting, angle snapping, and acceleration settings. You can have multiple configurations for a mouse, and even duplicate or delete the profiles. Polling rate is at 1000 but you can choose 500, 250, or 125. Angle snapping is a nice feature where mostly side to side or up and down movement will correct slightly off trajectories and move the mouse exactly in that direction. I can already see a use case for that in Photoshop. I played around with acceleration and deceleration here, might be useful for snipers in games I think.

The Rival 100's lighting options might not be as expansive as those offered by Razer and Corsair, but they still offer a nice bit of flash (and choice) for a mouse at this price point. I had a choice between this and Logitech G302 mouse both are designed with MOBA players in mind but are extremely good for daily/office use. The Rival 100's sensitivity button toggles between two user-selectable sensitivity settings. You'll adjust these settings in the SteelSeries Engine 3 software. The sensitivity stages can only be changed in increments of 250 DPI, but that should still allow most of us to find a comfortable setting.SteelSeries delivers Prism RGB illumination on the Rival 100 – the only mouse in its class with millions of color options, variations and features. Features beyond color, like illumination motions and real-time game actions via GameSense can all be controlled through the powerful, SteelSeries Engine software suite. Colorshift : The lights will cycle between a variety of colors. Steel Engine offers four selectable palettes for Colorshift mode. Whereas the sides of the Rival 100 are made of plastic, the entire top portion of the unit is coated in a thin layer or rubber. It feels good to the touch but shows hand grease more than matte plastic would. The ergonomic shape and 6-button right-handed layout were designed to work comfortably with any grip style. Two additional buttons grace the left side of the mouse, with both the left and right sides having a textured finish for additional grip. Underneath the mouse are three smooth feet — one long one at the top going the width of the mouse and two smaller ones near the bottom.
