About this deal

All the main video streaming apps are on offer, including Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV+, Now, YouTube, Google Play, and all the TV catch-up services. There’s support for resolutions up to 4K, along with HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and DTS audio where available. Screen uniformity isn’t the strongest either, with clouding in the corners of Bad Times at the El Royale (4K HDR10+) via a 4K Blu-ray player. It’s less of a problem during the day, but becomes fairly evident when light levels in a room start to drop. Viewing angles are better than most at this price – although, inevitably, colours lose their punchiness and brightness the wider you are. The entirety of the 55-inch set is balanced on a base with 2 legs and is quite different from the stands you usually get with high end TVs. It thankfully comes fitted with a lot of ports which is amazing, as most manufacturers these days skimp on giving ports for multiple inputs. There are 4 HDMI ports of which 1 accommodates 4K at 144hz, 1 is 4K at 120hz and 2 accommodate 4K at 60hz meaning it can accommodate practically any current and last gen console and optimal performance levels. If you have multiple consoles that you play on along with your PC, you will not have to unplug any of the cables and instead can have all of them on the different access ports. Besides the HDMI ports there is also a LAN cable port, a digital output port, headphone- in port and 2 USB ports at 2.0, which we felt was a little out of sync and off-putting as everything else is up to date, so why not have USB ports at 3.0. The 55-inch 55C735K, though, finally fixes this frustration, at least for the UK and Europe, combining an unprecedented feature count for its money with picture quality that shames some TVs costing twice as much. The rear does suddenly become chunkier a few inches in from those super-svelte edges, but even then the set wears this extra area of bulk quite nicely. The chunkier area doesn’t just house the screen’s processors and connections; it also provides space for TCL to build in a strikingly large rear-facing bass driver – again adorned by the Onkyo logo. We test every TV we review thoroughly over an extended period of time. We use industry standard tests to compare features properly. We’ll always tell you what we find. We never, ever, accept money to review a product. TCL hasn't been shy in promoting the gaming-friendly features of the likes of the C73K, with screens starting from 43-inches. Introducing the C935U, P733W and S522W Soundbars

TCL has unveiled a number of new home entertainment products aimed at its European consumers for the first half of 2022, including two new series of Mini LED TVs and two QLED ranges, along with a fresh trio of soundbars. The 65C815K exhibits mixed fortunes with its contrast. Watching it in a dark room using its out-of-the-box presets, three contrast points immediately stood out: two good, one bad. In fact, the 55C735K even supports the Dolby Vision IQ system, where the advanced Dolby Vision picture settings can automatically adjust themselves to compensate for the amount of ambient light in your room so that you still get the right level of HDR impact. However, with both these solutions brightness will have reduced to around 400 nits by the time you’ve done what you need to do to remove all the colour ‘exaggerations’.

Dolby VisionTM and Dolby AtmosTM bring the life-like picture and sound straight to your living room With the ONKYO speakers, viewers can enjoy immersive Dolby Atmos sound quality on the TV or pass it to a TCL Sound Bar. There's a bezel less design with a matching central stand allowing the TV to fit on any surface at home. Release DateBudget to mid-range TVs tend to focus on functionality over looks, but the TCL C715 sports an elegant and tidy design. The slim metal bezel offers minimal distractions, and the feet – which can be configured in narrow (which I chose) and wide positions – offer flexibility (you don’t get this with the 50-inch model, however). Nor does it take long for the set to be assembled: slot in the feet, tighten the two screws for each foot, and you’re done. so good for its money that it pretty much redefines the whole TV market in a single blaze of ultra-bright glory." The soundbar manages to radiate sound up as well as forward, creating at least a vague sense of height with Dolby Atmos mixes – although there aren’t really any specific overhead effects to speak of.
