About this deal

Hurry up, Safiya!’ Mum calls. I look up and find her at the door of the coffee shop tapping her feet, impatient to leave. We’re shopping in London today, using vouchers from our Christmas presents. I found a big fur coat so, naturally, I put it on and pretended to be a bear. Rating this is very weird for me because I know the story is better and I should rate it about a 4/5 but I just didn't vibe with it. It wasn't for me and I would rate it maybe a 2.5/5 if I was honest. Safiya and her mum have never seen eye to eye. Her mum doesn't understand Safiya's love of gaming and Safiya doesn't think they have anything in common. As Safiya struggles to fit in at school she wonders if her mum wishes she was more like her confident best friend Elle. But then her mum falls into a coma and, when Safiya waits by her bedside, she finds herself in a strange and magical world that looks a bit like one of her games. And there's a rebellious teenage girl, with a secret, who looks suspiciously familiar . . . Perfect for fans of Jacqueline Wilson, Ross Welford and Kiran Millwood-Hargrave. About This Edition ISBN:

Four stops to King’s Cross. Four stops for me to imagine the worst. Dad must be OK. I don’t have any grandparents, or aunts and uncles, apart from Mum’s sister . . . Is it Mum? She starts to explore her mother's past through a magical game. You almost can smell the perfume and feel the heat of Kuwait on your skin through this book. It's freaking beautiful. The way it explores her grief and need for understanding. The way it explores how she wants to save her mum. I adore the development of friendship in this. I love the ending! I’m not a gamer but I know how important gaming can be to a lot of people and I’m so glad they entered that competition! I would have liked to have known if they won or not!

Pocket Full Of Stars Chords - ULTIMATE GUITAR Pocket Full Of Stars Chords - ULTIMATE GUITAR

I remember once (and still) fearing everything that comes with publication. I voiced this to my dad who said: ‘Well, at least you’re not an actor. They’re judged for who they are, you’re just judged for what you write.’ To sum up, I must say that I really enjoyed reading this book and I would surely recommend it to allTheir willingness to listen and take on my changes. Quite far into the process (before I combined Safiya’s gaming interests with the quest), when I was supposed to have finished my structural edits, I realised the book wasn’t working. Liz and Sarah listened to my concerns and let me try something experimental. They helped me get to the essence of what I was trying to do as we moved into the next edit. It was at that point that the book came together. I’ll always be grateful for their patience, and their faith in my ideas. That said, I’m pretty sure I thought I would be a vet, too, even though I’m allergic to most household pets.
