About this deal

The tent sleeps families or groups of up to 8 people and has 4-berth bedrooms at each end, with living space in the middle. It feels really spacious and you can stand up easily throughout. I’ll admit I wasn’t entirely convinced by inflatable tents before our 3-week family camping trip to France and Spain. Running through my mind were endless questions – how do they work? What is an air tent?! How do you decided if you want a Berghaus Air 8, or some other tent? Surely poles are just as easy (and cheaper)? Are Berghaus tents any good? What if it gets punctured – won’t that be a faff to fix? Some might say I’m an overthinker, but if you’re investing in a tent that’s going to stand the test of family holidays, then it’s worth getting it right. There’s so much information available online when we’re shopping now, that it’s easy to find lots of detail about products like Berghaus Air 6 Tent. This is of course really helpful, but there’s almost too much information available, so it’s important to know exactly what you’re looking for. One, quite recent, example could be the Lichfield Eagle Air 6, which is basically a Vango with a different logo, and it’s much cheaper. The bedrooms are smaller, but the porch is considerably bigger than the Berghaus Air 6XL’s.

There are also tents with inflatable poles. You'll need to pump up each pole individually, so it can take a bit of effort, but you can avoid trying to feed the poles through the tent canvas. The tents are essentially the same (same footprint etc), but the 8.1 has the darker bedrooms. I have therefore linked to the Berghaus Air 8.1 nightfall in this post. Where to buy the Berghaus Air 8 inflatable tent Prime examples are the Ridgewood and the Greenburgh 7A inflatable tents, which share a 3+3+1 layout. To give that price some context we then looked at all of the products available from Go Outdoors in the 5 – 6 Person Tents category. We found 17 items in total. What’s the price of 5 – 6 Person Tents?

If reading this Berghaus Air 8 tent review has got you in the camping mood, try the following for some holiday inspiration! It's very common for manufacturers to be generous about the number of people they say can fit inside their tents. The number they give will be technically true, but it probably won't account for the space needed for campers' belongings, or the space people need for a comfortable night's sleep. One huge noticeable timesaver was not having to fix an inner tent via loops and hooks to an external shell. The tent is a single unified component – the bedrooms and living space are pre-attached to the framework so there is no additional connecting or construction needed once you’ve blown up the tent. There are plenty other 6-person air tents that you could consider, however, very few of them can beat the Berghaus AIr 6XL for that price. If you’d prefer a bigger porch, or something that’s a bit lighter you need to look elsewhere. Alternatives

You'll want to ensure your tent footprint is the same size as the tent you're pitching – several manufacturers sell footprints specifically to fit certain tent models.Once the tents are up, we closely inspect the interior of each one and rate them on how likely campers are to have a comfortable and enjoyable experience that meets their needs. There aren’t any of the inner tension bands that you can find on a Vango or a Lichfield for example, but the corner stakes are made of aluminimum to ensure that the tent stays on the ground in heavy winds. I am not aware of any official wind testing, but users reportedly survived winds up to 45 mph inside the Berghaus Air 6 XL (but bear in mind there are plenty of factors that affect the stability of a tent in high winds.) We pitch every tent, taking into account how long it takes, how clear the instructions are, how much physical effort is required, and how convenient the process is. The Berghaus Air 6XL is a very-very good tent, great value for money IF you bear in mind that it is an older model, and you won’t find some of the features that other, newer tents have nowadays. This is however reflected in the price, as the Berghaus Air 6 XL is cheaper than most of its rivals, and oftentimes bigger & better at the same time.

A rain brow above the door prevents fly sheet run-off from dripping inside the tent. Tips for deflating the tent Price – as you’d expect the price of a product can be an instantly recognisable factor on what sort of quality you can expect. Whoever came up with the phrase “you get what you pay for” pretty much hit the nail on the head. Whilst it’s not always the case and there are many bargains to be had, you can as a general rule, expect the higher priced products to offer better quality than a the cheapest option. We’ll dive into the price of Berghaus Air 6 Tent in more detail in a moment. They claim to provide an easy way for you to plan where you're going to place your tent without having to pitch it fully, and provide an extra layer of waterproofing and insulation from the ground below. You can often get a great deal (especially if you have a free membership card) from Go Outdoors. This is where we bought our tent and camping equipment from. The Berghaus Air 6 XL comes in a large and heavy carrybag– it weighs more than 35 kgs. Thankfully, there are wheels on the bag so you can easily pull it around wherever you’d like to. The only issue is with the boot space: the bag itself measures 87cm x 58cm x 50cm (wider than most). Putting it onto the roof isn’t easy either due to its sheer weight.A good rule of thumb is to go for a tent that's claimed to sleep one more person than you need. If you're a family of four, for example, we'd recommend going for a five-person tent. The tent is protected from the top and the bottom by way of a flysheet that has been seam sealed and fully taped, with a heavy duty groundsheet beneath (which our youngest tripped over without fail every time she entered or left the tent). It’s generously ventilated with high and low-level vents and meshed doors for improved airflow and condensation control, which can be easily sealed in the event of bad weather. There are however some methods that you can use to determine a product’s quality without needing to physically have it. Most tents have thin, collapsible poles made from fibreglass. They often fold up into a compact size and are connected by an elastic cord. They're usually flexible and will need to be bent to fit the shape of the tent canvas during pitching.
