About this deal

The Region 2 release of Terror of the Zygons was released in advance as part of The Fourth Doctor Time Capsule box set without special features, and was later re-released on its own with special features. Scripts, Costume Designs, rare BBC Production Files and other rarities from the PDF Archive The Collection also includes:

The Complete Seventh Series box set was released as a limited edition book case with a raised TARDIS cover (BBCBD0251). In the UK, both versions included a redeemable Ultraviolet copy of all episodes in the series. A Steelbook version (BBCBD0517) was released in 2020. There are also minor variations having to do with technical glitches that occurred in the Region 2 discs but were corrected in time for the Region 1 release ( The Caves of Androzani, Remembrance of the Daleks, Complete Series Two box set). The Region 2 discs released up to 2009 have also been dual coded with Region 4, so the two have been identical; this practice ceased for new releases in 2010. The only exceptions are Vengeance on Varos, which fixed an error on the Region 2 version in episode 2, and Remembrance of the Daleks, which used the NTSC master due to errors on the UK version and issues about music clearance. Available as part of the New Beginnings box set or the Regeneration box set in Region 2. Only available as part of the New Beginnings box set in Region 4. Available individually or as part of the New Beginnings box set in Region 1. The poor costume designers. At least with The Romans, there was a fair chance they could have borrowed some togas from other BBC productions. But here… at first, I’m sure they were excited — getting to design an alien, humanoid, butterfly species! Stripes, and fur and large wings that spread out, because of course they have to fly as well. Quite the mission statement already. I agree with you, Philip that often, they did incredibly well considering the resources they were given. It was the scripts that were the main problem and responsible for those were the script editor and producer.Episodes 1 and 4–6 of 6, with both animated full and "tele-snap" partial reconstructions of episodes 2 and 3 Season 3 is a box set creator's worst nightmare at the moment. Missing episodes everywhere you look, and the only one with existing tele-snaps is The Savages. Hopefully there'll be a a few more animations over the next couple of years to plug the gaps. Release delayed due to Series 7B still being broadcast in New Zealand at the time of the Australian release. Only available as part of the Ace Adventures box set in Regions 2 and 4. Only available individually in Region 1. https://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/2022/doctor-who-david-tennant-and-catherine-tate-return?fbclid=IwAR0E5D2hCChdxZgWnx4px4WN2Mc4ef9gqbg8ViBnYRx233qJGw4JZJr98VU

The Complete Eighth Series was also released as a special edition (BBCBD0289), with a foil embellished slipcase and a button press sound chip containing the TARDIS dematerialisation sound effect, and four art cards. A Steelbook version (BBCBD0525) was released in 2021. Steelbook versions of the Complete First Series (BBCBD0343) and Complete Second Series (BBCBD0393) were released in 2017, followed by the Complete Third Series (BBCBD0436) in 2018, and the Complete Fourth Series (BBCBD0467) in 2019. IN CONVERSATION - Matthew Sweet interviews Sylvester McCoy about his life, career, and time as the Seventh Doctor.

Side guide

As for the adventures themselves, the production teams of the day created without a doubt some of the most imaginative and ingenious work ever done on television. Especially considering the threadbare budget of the BBC. There were times where they clearly bit off more than they could chew, or you could say the production team’s eyes were bigger than their stomachs, but even then, you had to give your compliments to the chef for sheer determination and bravery, bringing forth a tantalising repast. And Season 5 is another one where we're now just a couple of animations short of a complete run - The Abominable Snowmen and The Wheel in Space. The former's rumoured to be in the works already and you'd suspect The Wheel in Space wouldn't be far behind.
