Description

Though both of these speakerphones look professional, I have to say that the Poly Sync 20 has a more refined look. It’s nicely appointed with a fabric material that covers a good portion of it. The rest of the device is reserved for control buttons. That said, looks will only take you so far, so let’s look further. Bluetooth Version But, before I get started, I wanted to let you know that I created a video on this. In my video, I compare these two models for their features and sound quality. Where the Jabra Speak 710 gives you up to 15 hours. To recharge the battery, the Sync 20 takes 4 hours, where the Jabra Speak 710 takes 3. The Poly Sync 20+ makes for a good calling device when connected to your phone or PC. Callers on the other side report good voice clarity with no perceivable clipping or disturbances. The microphone frequency response is rated between 100 Hz and 6.7 kHz, so do not expect too much of a bass effect in the voice. That being said, the quality is more than sufficient for regular phone calls and online meetings. The added bonus is that the Sync 20+ supports noise and echo reduction, which should result in call quality better than your average laptop or smartphone microphone. Because of Poly’s robust software and device management, the Poly Sync 20’s rich audio experience will only continue to get better over time through updates. This sleek, compact device was designed to be flexible – so you can work from anywhere and be guaranteed the best Microsoft Teams experiences. Poly confirmed to us that it is not possible to pair multiple Sync 20 units in stereo mode. However, I feel fairly safe in saying that most people who use a product like this, aren’t in noisy environments. Still, good to know before making your buying decision. Talk time Further, while it’s handy that the Sync 20 announces when it has connected to and disconnected from a device, and when it has powered down, the volume is set way too high, which can be rather startling if you’re not ready for it. It’s also unclear why the speakerphone isn’t configured to power down automatically as soon as all devices are unlinked. The Poly Sync 20 comes in a number of different models, which can be difficult to distinguish at first glance. The base Poly Sync 20 differs from the Poly Sync 20+, which comes with a Bluetooth dongle, and these two device categories are divided again into models with either USB-A or USB-C cables.

Freedom to Move – Don’t get us wrong, headsets are great. But everyone has their own way that they like to work and sometimes it’s necessary to have the freedom to get up and move around in the home office and not wear a headset all day. When it’s time for a change of scenery, the Poly Sync’s 20-hour battery life is in for the long-haul. And don’t worry, we made sure to make it dust and water-resistant, so you can get up and go worry-free – even if right now, all that means is moving to your patio. S peed. Bluetooth 5 is faster than Bluetooth 4 with the format having 2Mbps, twice the speed of Bluetooth 4 about 1 Mbps making the Bluetooth 5 able to meet one of IoT requirements. This is thanks to the 5Mbps bandwidth of the Bluetooth 5 in comparison to 2.1 Mbps of the Bluetooth 4 ”. Streamlined and intuitive functionality are central to the Poly Sync 20’s design. Now you can switch between your favorite functions – such as play or pause music, last number redial, voice assistant, and more – with the touch of the programmable button. At a glance, Poly Sync’s highly visible LED light indicator bar lets you know the call status – even from a distance. 7 – Certified for Use with Your Favorite Platform The Sync 20+ is built well and is very portable. It is easy to use and requires virtually no setup apart from pairing it with the source device either wired or wirelessly. Using the Poly Lens app is optional, but it does allow you to perform device maintenance and customization.

Although the BT600 Bluetooth dongle that comes with the Sync 20 is the same one that comes with various other Poly products, a single dongle cannot tether to multiple devices at once. This means that if you want to switch between the Sync 20 and a Poly headset, you’ll need multiple dongles plugged into your PC or laptop. Performance If there were an advantage here, I’d say it goes to the Poly Sync 20 as it provides 25% more battery life even though it takes 25% longer to charge.
