About this deal

Mead Example: Wizgille reveals Mead during her Drink Phase. No player alters the Drink, so she decides to split it with Kaylin.

Example: Wizgille reveals Water as her Drink. Phrenk spikes it with all three of his spike cards, plus Poison. After all the Drink modifiers resolve, Wizgille plays “I didn’t activate my temporal dilation field. It’s just deja vu” to Negate the spiked Drink. (Under the original RDI 3 rules, this play was not allowed, since the Negate window for her Water had already passed.) Relevant Sometimes and Anytime Cards may be played in any Phase of a turn, either before or after the special action for that Phase. Why are we thanking you? It’s because you guys are so awesome we have to move forward with an early reprint of Red Dragon Inn 3 and another of Red Dragon Inn 1! As part of this reprint, we decided to do a few updates to the rules and card with more clarifications that fix some problems we have come across. Mead is a Drink that has its own built-in split effect. When a player reveals Mead, players first get an opportunity to affect the Drink.

Uh oh! Did I just let slip a spoiler? OK, it’s not a big secret. In fact, we mentioned Erin on this very blog about 3 months ago. Look for her (and Pooky) at GenCon this summer! If forcing a player out would cause there to be only one player left in the Round, players have a final chance to respond as described above. If no player does, the Round of Gambling ends and the remaining player wins. If you start a Round of Gambling, then immediately leave the Round (for example, with "Gambling? I*m in!" followed by "Not now, I'm feeding Wulfric"), then the Round begins but currently has no winner. If the Round ends before any player takes control, all anted Gold goes to the Inn.

Some Sometimes Cards allow you to Negate or Ignore another card. These cards are described in "Negate and Ignore Effects" under "Other Rules".Example: Gerki reveals Wine as his Drink. He has “Dump it on the floor” in his hand, but chooses not to play it (since he has the first chance to respond). Dimli plays “Spike it with firewater”. After that resolves, Gerki has another opportunity to dump the Drink. If you run out of Gold during a Round of Gambling, you will remain in the game at least until the Round of Gambling ends, even if you leave the Round of Gambling or are forced out. Ignore any effects that force you to pay or ante Gold. If you do not win the Round of Gambling, you are out of Gold and out of the game!
