Someone in the office commented that it also has a bit of a Tissot PRX vibe going on, but I’d say that watch is also inspired by the Oysterquartz from 1977 (however, in those years, more brands were using this case shape). Participating greatly in the design and appeal, the Citizen Tsuyosa Collection comes exclusively with a stainless steel bracelet, with a sort of “President-like” design, due to the rounded, thin links. Mind you, you will need to refrain from cutting your fingernails for a while, as it will be incredibly hard to pull the crown out. But I must really applaud Citizen for using a proper fold-over clasp with micro-adjustment – other brands should observe and learn, that’s the way to go. No mention was made yet about the lug-to-lug or the thickness, but we’ll surely try to have models for a hands-on review soon.They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms. This new Citizen Tsuyosa Collection isn’t the brand’s first entry into the luxury sports watch race. We received several of them in our office last week, and my eye was immediately drawn to this yellow version, the NJ0150-81Z. After having five links removed and a micro-adjustment, the watch sits well and is a good everyday wearer and an affordable alternative away from Rolex, Omega, Tudor, or any other luxury brand. The dial of the Citizen NJ0150-81Z has a sunburst finish and goes from a bit orangey in low-light conditions to bright yellow in the sun.
The new Citizen Tsuyosa Collection of automatic watches with integrated bracelet will be available as of July 2022 and won’t be limited. Next to this is the Citizen 8 collection, slightly more accessible watches that here again play on the trend for integrated designs and sporty-chic look. And other than the yellow dial, with the magnifier on the date window, the case comes across as an Oysterquartz. The press release that Citizen sent along states, “…what makes the watch most unique is the magnifying lens over the date window…” First, I feel that that’s not entirely correct.Underneath an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, the sporty timepiece makes use of a sunray black dial, with a 3 o’clock date window and contrasting silver-tone details adding to its classic aesthetic.
