About this deal

DISCLOSURE:This post may contain affiliate links where we receive a small commission - at no extra cost to you - when you make purchases through the links. Please note: There is explicit language and romance in this book, not suitable for those under the age of 18. In this book though, we really get a lot from Slade and his story is both tragic and one of strength.

My chest swells, and when she reaches a hand up and tugs at my arm, I lie back with her, situating until we’re arm to arm, leg to leg.I did a bit of skimming at times because the story was so in depth and there were characters I just didn’t even care to read their perspective. Off the top of my head, I can think of so many other ways this issue could have been resolved while still getting us to the end conflict. and once again the wrath never fail to make me laugh and put a smile on my face, while also being the fiercest and most loyal group ever. But I found the romance to be creative yet still realistic and never overly gratuitous- the 2 MC's spend 90% of the book together, so the opportunity is there, but Raven has the sensibility to hold back. Now I don’t usually mind a long book, but I felt like this was a tad bit to long for the information and action that happened.

Towards the end I would recommend having some tissues nearby and there are a couple of parts in the middle that may also have you tearing up. If there’s something you crave, if there’s some freedom you want to try the taste of, then you will do it, and I will be right there with you. Please note: This is an adult fantasy series with dark elements that may be triggering, including past emotional and physical trauma, violence, adult language, and explicit romance. This story spans several kingdoms, and gives such a better understanding of the terrain, layout and political goals of the greater kingdoms of Orea. There are deep connections with abuse and mental health themes, please check trigger warnings if that is something you may need.

I pause, ears straining, but all I hear are faint sounds from the city below and the constant draw of the waterfall at the base of the mountain. Whether she makes you laugh or cry, or whether the series is about a cupid or a gold-touched woman living in King Midas's gilded castle, she hopes to create characters that readers can root for. I’m now in a strange kingdom surrounded by liars, with no allies of my own, but I won’t sit idly by and let myself wither. At the end of the day, if you already LOVE this series and this Ship, then you will probably love this book as well.

So I think that’s important to remember as you’re going through this book, especially if you feel it’s beginning to get slightly long winded. So I will fight for him and he will kill for me, and if we need to become the villains, then so be it. The spice is OFF the charts, we gain far more POV chapters (some of which are VERY exciting), we get WAY more Wrath interaction, we get a new budding couple who I absolutely adore, we finally connect the dots to all of the questions we have about Auren’s past after her time with Zakir, we get the true fleshing out of a relationship between Auren and Slade, we get 110% more brother content between Slade and Fake Rip (his brother, Ryatt), we get 210% more emotions, we travel to the very ends of Orea (literally), and encounter far more…interesting characters, there is just SO much MORE in this book.
