One of Us Is Lying is Karen McManus' debut novel and I can't wait to read more of her work in the future. While this was in some ways a traditional whodunnit, I believe many of the minor influences were the reason this novel reads so well.

Meanwhile, Addy connects several pieces of evidence and holds Janae at knifepoint, accusing her of being the anonymous user; Janae admits to revealing the group's secrets while also changing Cooper's secret to avoid outing him but says she did not post the videos of the group meeting or Bronwyn's fight with Simon. Her mother is white, a 4th generation Irish, and her father is Colombian, making Bronwyn half Irish and Hispanic. Reviewer Mary Cosola of Common Sense Media comments that the plot "raises lots of ethical questions" and "provides good discussion topics", receiving an overall rating of four-stars, with an age rating of 14+.
