A little different in its design than some of the other fans here, this is a great stove fan for those who would prefer to keep the top of their stove clear of clutter as it is fixed to the flue pipe. Although a wood stove was designed for the very purpose of keeping your room warm, it is not always as effective as it should be when it comes to heat distribution. While the GALAFIRE 4-Blade Heat-Powered Wood stove Fan is a compact unit, it is still able to distribute an exceptional amount of heat throughout the room with relative ease. The fire grate, which was originally designed to be scroll top as shown on the sketch, is handmade with forged dragons teeth and shaped ash tray.
We created designs for approval for each florret and these were then cut from steel, hand detailed and shaped in our forge.
It won’t attach to stainless steel or double walled flues, so it’s worth using a magnet to check your flue before purchasing. Steve Tomlinson was brilliant - we had seen a couple stoves online but wanted to see them first so went to Winkleigh showroom. An inner steel buck helps to form the shape and protect the copper from the worst of the heat to reduce discolouration. When placing the stove fan on top of your wood stove, i t needs to be as far away from the flue pipe as possible and on a level surface.
Although the risk to human health is generally low in young people, older people may start to experience seriously detrimental effects from wood-burning fires. Some – but not all – fans list airflow in cubic feet per minute (CFM), so in this case look for fans with a higher CFM figure.When it comes to keeping a room nice and warm during winter there’s really nothing like having a wood stove.
