About this deal

Every part of the taste trauma to this point had been a tickle on the cods compared to the studded boot that was about to grind into my soul with the brute force of a petrol-engine-powered genital discourtesy. On first taste, this Naga pickle didn’t seem too harsh, just a very clean toppy (and slightly zesty) burn. INGREDIENTS- Garlic, fresh Mangoes, Onion, Vegetable, Chilis, Oil, Sugar, Sultanas, Dates, Salt, Mustard, Fenugreek, Coriander, Chili Peppers, Spices, Acetic Acid, Lactic Acid, Ginger. When I bought this jar of pickle the fella behind the counter picked it up and looked me squarely in the eye, in much the same manner as one might eye someone who tells you he plans to rob the crown jewels wearing nothing but the front half of a pantomime horse costume. Add the remaining vinegar, season with salt if necessary, and cook over medium heat for 15 minutes more.

Pran Naga Pickle – the hot sauce that nearly killed me.

Used in curries it gives a slightly sweet and tart flavour as well as fierce heat, producing a dish that is on par with a Vindaloo in the hot stakes. I woke up several times throughout the night, alarmed and terrified into a waking nightmare when my tongue found a microscopic section of my mouth that I had failed to scrub clean, a microscopic section harbouring hell in pickle form. A few weeks later, an entire section of the side of one of my teeth fell out, I seriously think it may have been weakened by this Naga Pickle. This product only represents a risk of health if consumed in sufficient quantity, but people should avoid using any that they have.

The Pran logo is at the top of the label on the front of the jar with the product description "Naga Chilli Pickle" in white lettering plus the words "extra hot" in yellow lettering.

Tonight I tried my first mix, Rogan Josh, it was absolutely gorgeous, very authentic taste and brought back memories of visiting Indian restaurants in the UK (I now live in Spain).I fell out of a second-story window when I was a teenager, and I can remember thinking (as I fell through the air) that the few seconds before I met the ground might be the last I would ever experience without pain. It will keep for a long time in the refrigerator, so if you can resist eating it all at once, you can enjoy it with meals for days to come, or plan to make it ahead of time and have it on hand for guests. If you are worried this will be a bit hot taste the sauce once the add the chicken has been added and start adding the rest of the Naga chilli pickle bit by bit until you get the heat you prefer.
