For it being a second chance romance, I expected us to see them a part for a while, read about their time together from high school and slowly see them get together. I think there should have been some groveling and time taken to properly heal their relationship (one of my favourite aspects of a second chance romance), but there wasn’t much of that at all. Seemed like an entirely different character compared to the Sylvie in “things I wanted to say” (which I’m happy about bc I didn��t like her in that book) but we didnt really get to SEE that change. I loved A Million Kisses in Your Lifetime, so I was very excited to read the next book in the Lancaster series! I really hope Carolina gets a book in the future and I look forward to reading other books by this author, even though Promises We Meant to Keep wasn’t for me personally! The addictive story of second chances and star-crossed love by the TikTok phenomenon, Monica Murphy . I had been waiting for Sylvie's story since I read TIWTS, and I'm happy we finally got her POV and her back story.the only reason why I’m even giving this book a star is because of Whit and Summer, a book that didn’t even revolve around them😭This spinoff was unnecessary, I feel absolutely no sympathy for Sylvie (she didn’t evolve into a better person and she definitely thinks world problems don’t exist) and the romance aspect was NOT there.
