About this deal

At some point I am probably going to be speaking to their technical director but I dont see the point pushing for an exchange, more along the lines of how I can get near the 8000 btu its rated at.

I think what I need is a recommendation for a DIY or after-market nylon widget I can fit in when I mount these rads. You can then connect the radiator tail with your adjustable spanner until there is just one thread showing. You may need to make a small slice in your carpet where your new pipework is and then you are finished! Thing is, I've done more testing by changing another rad (same size but not a double) to TBOE as well and it has similar characteristics. Please Note: This flow diverter is not suitable for use with the Milano Windsor range of traditional column radiators, MIlano Skye and Aruba Ayre or with radiators that have an internal pipe size larger than 36mm. In other words, we know it’s got to be this direction and air speed at point A and it’s going to be this direction at air speed desired at, you know, point C, then between those two we have to draw as smooth a line as possible.

Because the top of the radiator in a C5 Corvette is angled forward, the path the air must take isn’t straight. Insert this flow diverter into your new designer radiator to ensure a steady flow of water up and down the columns, guaranteeing an even heat that will leave your space feeling warm and cosy. The hood itself has a raised lip at the front of the openings to create turbulence, which creates low pressure and actually draws the air out of the engine compartment or the chimney, and that helps the air flow out from behind the radiator more efficiently and adds about 30 pounds of downforce, too. It has been my experience that column rads don't always seem to give the same enjoyment of the heat compared with standard rads. I demonstrated how hanging the radiator on the brackets made them droop under the weight because the screws sagged.

Just put the heating on for ten miniutes and the 3 connected top bottom all get hot quicker than the bottom only BUT the the bottom only one doesn't have the cold spot. But, that's just my opinion - I'm sure if you keep asking you'll eventually get the answer you want.

Here at LandyZone we have plenty of very knowledgable members so if you have any questions about your Land Rover or just want to connect with other Landy owners, you're in the right place. My builder and plumber couldn’t see a fixing problem and just recommended drilling and plugging the wall, with the plugs provided, and bolting the brackets firmly to it. When I looked into it I found suitable radiators could be obtained that would fit well in the space and hopefully give out enough heat. He was a very smart engineer and he looked at what I was doing, and said I had a couple of fundamental problems,” Smith said. The most important thing I noticed is that now even on the hottest days — it can be over 100 degrees at Miller — the car doesn’t go over 210 degrees,” Smith said. What that means is the pressure and velocity and vector change of air flow in any duct should be as gradual as possible. Was there a working radiator previously in position or have the central heating pipes been tee'd into and extended to the faulty rad ? The improved air flow into the radiator necessitated a better evacuation, so Smith fabricated a “chimney” that seals to the hood.

Fitting neatly between the valve and radiator, this flow diverter is great if you are having heat distribution problems with your radiator. The oval tubes are welded to two horizontal cylindrical tubes near the top and bottom which feed them with water through holes bored through the centres of the welded areas. Shoving something into a rad to try and 'adjust' the way water flows through it is asking for trouble (in my humble opinion). Ahlstrom also has done aerodynamics development work for pylon racing aircraft and Steve Fossett’s landspeed racer before Fossett died in a plane crash in 2007.I knew that it was likely that all the weight would end up on the top brackets unless they gave a bit. These things might be expensive "designer" stuff that look ok but at the end of the day they are a load of tubes welded together and nothing like a conventional radiator.
