About this deal

Despite my hesitations,Constantine’s writing is fast-paced and breezy—the sort of binge-able reading material that I usually love when looking for a psychological thriller. By the time we get to the last section in the book, that old phrase about ‘what goes around comes around' came to mind, along with a few other books or movies in which the tables are turned in spectacular fashion, and revenge is carried out with carefully constructed scheming. Would recommend to anyone that enjoys a fast-paced, unputdownable, and an entertaining mystery/thriller novel.

It’s not absolutely necessary to the overall storyline, but it can be read either before or after The Last Mrs. A wonderfully clever story, filled with suspense and a shocking twist, that kept me turning the pages. She has to make snide comments (mentally) about the weight of her coworker, and think to herself how much easier it was for Daphne's sister, who grew up with and eventually died from cystic fibrosis. Combine this structure [introducing the antagonist first] with a very straightforward, slightly edgy feel to Amber's voice and a more lyrical sound to Daphne's – perhaps the two sisters divvied up these characters between them – and you have everything you need in both literary style and character development. Page-turning, fresh, and just the right amount of weird, THE FAMILY GAME is a perfect choice for your winter to-read list.A week after the night she chases but fails to catch a mysterious trespasser outside her town house, some unknown party texts Tempe four images of a corpse that looks as if it’s been chewed by wild hogs, because it has been. Amber offers to help out with a foundation that Daphne runs and she’s thrilled to have Amber’s help.

There’s no better time to watch a slasher movie—or read a slasher book—than October, and if your idea of perfect Halloween entertainment involves villains like Michael Myers or Freddy Krueger, the book I’m recommending today is the Halloween read for you. She deserves more - a life of money and power like the one blond-haired, blue-eyed goddess Daphne Parrish takes for granted. And I'm not "seeing everything through the lens of feminism," or whatever excuse some people want to throw at me.

this is a satisfying thriller that offers a window into the darker side of glamorous lives and powerful men.Daphne takes classes at a local college, pretending to enroll in art but studying psychology instead. With a plot equally as twisty, spellbinding, and addictive as Gillian Flynn’s Gone Girl or Paula Hawkins’s The Girl on the Train, this is sure to be a hit with suspense fans. I wish the publishers hadn’t stuffed this novel into the psychological-thriller genre just because that’s where all the cool kids are, but had instead been honest about what this book is: a dark romance meets women’s fiction meets soap opera intrigue with a terrible, TERRIBLE message.

Pantomime villains, sociopaths and schemers abound, yet the third-person narrative of Amber with a snarky inner dialogue will ensure the majority of readers will stick around for an ingeniously satisfying denouement! There are a number of reasons why and some are hard to talk about without giving important things away. Parrish, readers will discover exactly how Amber Patterson transformed from small-town girl to master manipulator - after all, practice makes perfect. If you’ve been around Crime by the Book for a little bit, you already know how much I absolutely love Iceland Noir: a crime fiction festival that takes place in Reykjavik, Iceland in November. She visits Amber to confront her about her secrets, shares her participation in the divorce plot, and tells her about Jackson’s crime.
