im testing new configs with the unit, i wasnt able to use it in preamp mode as i need the bitrate display, but i did reconfig brightness levels, filters settings, and auto off. It has a focused, articulate character, with the musical notes starting and stopping cleanly and precisely. The E50 uses the latest ESS ES9068AS DAC chip, a 32-bit, 2-channel D/A converter designed for audiophile-grade applications. I originally thought it was a Tidal issue, and went through with clearing cache and reinstalling, but obviously that didn't work. The product has been energized continuously for a long time since it arrived, but I hardly feel the heat generated by the main unit.Topping E50 connected via USB directly to Roon Core as Audio Output, thereby via PCM output to Integrated Amp. Just a fellow user here, as well, and avoiding MQA wherever I can, but I do know by way of checking for myself just now, that all questions asked so far are actually well explained in Roon’s help center, while contradicting the “solution” offered here! Its digital volume control means it can be used as a preamp but can also be set to output line level where no needless attenuation is applied.
