The second half continued Sally's fascinating life but got a little bogged down by the inclusion of articles and details about her travels. And I really believe she could have used an editor to cut down on the number of exclamation points! We lived in Bel Air mansions, stayed in the best hotels, flew private jets, and received extravagant gifts from the bands," she writes. "It was certainly a life that was envied by many."

However, it was not all light-hearted fun and glamorous parties for Arnold. In 1977 she lost her fiancée Dean in a plane crash, a journey he'd previously advised her not to take. I am grateful to NetGalley for providing an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.Alicia from Tamaqua, PaNow to get this straight, Freddie did not write this song at all. It was Brian May who concocted this masterpiece. I think it as disrespectful to think of Freddie like that..."fat bottomed boys?" Seriously people! It was indeed Freddie's Idea to have the women naked on the bikes..lol... This song was refered to "GROUPIES" not necessarily actual "fat bottomed girls" I have the Queen Greatest Video Hits 1 and 2. The video for this song is featured on it and its FUNNY to watch! I love this song, it has such a wonderful beat to it! Tanya from Dayton, OhIt's a shame how Freddie's sexuallity keeps on getting dragged into this. Brian May wrote the song. And I don't believe there's anything sexist about it. I enjoyed this book although the material covered has been written about in many times in books, magazines and other media. The perspective of this book is new. That of a successful woman managing music bands and their tours. The author recounts stories and events with the many famous people she has encountered during her music industry years.

What a busy woman Sally Arnold has been and what a truly fulfilling life! I couldn’t believe, even within the first few chapters, just how eventful Sally’s early life and career has been. Told in her own words, with help from her diary extracts, she begins her journey from her childhood as a farmers daughter and granddaughter of the founder of MK Electric, to charity work she is still involved with today. Chris from Port Hawkesbury, CanadaFreddie wrote Bicycle Race, from his point of view it would have been about GUYS on bikes, but the poster in the album was obviously going to be WOMEN on bikes. They knew that would cause enough controversy as it was, and controversy was what they were trying to 'manage', what with starting to be past their prime and all. It worked! A rather dull album that everyone bought just to get the poster. Bryan May wrote the more lyrically controversial 'Fat Bottomed Girls', I always thought it was kind of comical, and not to be taken seriously. On musical terms, both songs are acceptable, I guess, but the rest of the album is much below what Queen were capable of. The fact it was a man’s world she was living and working in (and some under the influence more than others) was part of the ride. “I loved it,” she says. “In fact, one thing I miss is the big bear hugs. We were such a close-knit family on tour.”This year marks 20 years since she was cured of breast cancer. She was the first to proudly tattoo over her mastectomy scar. “ People say they should be brave. But you do what you have to do, there is no alternative, you just keep going” says Sally, who, by the way, chose not to have children of her own. He is relieved to have retired: “ I volunteer helping local teenagers to experience music through my charity Jamming Station. I still enjoy my trips to London, to see old friends, and the long gossipy lunches, but without the alcohol. It’s like poison to me now, it gives me migraines. Maybe because I’ve been lagging…“, he admits. But it didn’t just stop with that giant leap. Sally went on to become a tour manager for other big name bands of the time. She went on to organise many charity events, meeting and working alongside people such as Princess Diana and Elton John, and eventually setting up her own events management company. Luke from Manchester, EnglandYeah, Brian May wrote this... Freddie couldn't have - It would have been called Fat Bottomed Boys if he did I don’t think anyone had been particularly thoughtful before. Everything I did was for the good of the tour and I was also there for them. When Allen Collins [from Lynyrd Skynyrd] missed the birth of his first baby, he was heartbroken so I had him sobbing on my shoulder.”

The Rolling Stones were given a rare break during a layover in Australia and Richards linked up with a single mum with an apparent pharmaceutical cocaine connection. However, during his downtime, he became enchanted by the casual and comfortable pace of suburban life. Stefano from Rome, ItalyI love this song for sentimental reasons. In fact, it was the first Queen song I heard on a radio in March 1979. I was only ten. Since then, Queen are among my favourite groups.Dekkun from Anonymous-ville, HiWhen I took a trip to Oklahoma with my teacher and friends, this was one of the songs on the "surprise CD" some girls from the school made us. It's safe to say, it's so disgusting and so awesome at the same time. I love it! But the sexism isn't all bad - after all, an all-woman group (Antigone Rising) covered this song for the Queen Tribute album. They can dig it.
