As much as I’ve enjoyed Nick Cutter in the past, sadly this one didn’t quite live up to my expectations, though of course that doesn’t mean it won’t work for you. Thank you to Gallery Books for providing a free copy of Little Heaven in exchange for an honest review! It pits the coolest and most unlikely bounty hunters against an old time religious cult and the ickiest creation this side of John Carpenter's The Thing. Despite the seemingly straightforward premise for this novel, it plays a little more with chronology than I’d expected.

No I don’t give 2 stars often, and I was so crushed about giving it to this one because I really wanted to like it!It doesn't matter if you're into Stephen King, Octavia Butler, Jack Ketchum or Shirley Jackson, this is the place to share that love and discuss to your heart's content. Cutter tends to be repetitive here – there are only so many times we can describe the same scene – and worse, he has a tendency to repeat the same scene while not explaining the scene. If there is usually nothing wrong with a plot-driven story (as opposed to one that is character-driven), I have to agree with you on your need to establish some link with the characters, and care for them: when this element is missing, the enjoyment of a book suffers. When Micah Shughrue wakes up to find his daughter missing, he’s terrified that a darkness from his past has come to claim her, so he enlists his former colleagues Minerva Atwater and Ebenezer Elkins to go back to the place that nearly broke them 15 yea

This hard to believe bond takes them to a religious commune and eventually a confrontation with a misshapen creature in the wilderness. Little Heaven” is included on these Goodreads lists: “Upcoming Books Of Note: Horror”, and “Best Picks: Adult Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Novels of 2017”.She may have been hired to kill MIcah, but Ebenezer, now that was personal as we will soon discover. Told in two sections, as the events are happening and fifteen years later, the novel left me with chills.
