Bribery. A commander who controls a horde through coin can just as easily be outbid. A sufficient show of money or promise of wealth can sway a horde's allegiance. A “skeleton trap horse” is a neutral skeleton horse spawned from a fraction of lightning generated naturally by a thunderstorm (0.75–1.5% chance on Easy, 1.5–4% on Normal, and 2.25–6.75% on Hard, depending on regional difficulty). In Java Edition, the lightning that spawns a trap horse doesn't strike nearby entities or spawn fires. Lightning strikes caused by a Channeling-enchanted trident and lightning strikes on a lightning rod never spawn a skeleton trap horse. The trap horse despawns after 15 minutes if not triggered. With flying movement of 12 they supplement really well any Legion or spectral army, even more now with the General Handbook 19 discount. Their scythes also give mortal wounds on 6s making them essential in any list. In combat, hordes are often accompanied by powerful individuals which serve to direct and empower the horde by serving as a commmander. These creatures should roll initiative as individuals. Horde. The horde can occupy another creature's space and vice versa, and the horde can move through any opening large enough for a Medium hobgoblin. Additionally, the horde is immune to any spell Runefang Steel: Silver and metallic colors can be used to highlight and add details to a miniature, and Runefang Steel is an excellent option for this. Used sparingly, Runefang Steel can help highlight specific areas and add visual interest to the miniature. As desired, mix in normal monsters with your hordes. A horde of forty creatures might be led by four lieutenants and a boss. Run these extra monsters as you normally would. A skeleton horse does not have an inventory and cannot be equipped with a saddle or armor. Despite this, the default texture file, like those of normal horses, donkeys and mules, includes a chest.A horde of creatures retains most of the abilities of its individual creatures, and gains the following abilities: Storm King's Banner. When a creature within 30 feet of you takes lightning damage, the electricity is instead directed toward this magical banner. The creature takes no damage, and the banner instead takes the lightning damage. As a bonus action while you are holding the banner, you can plant the banner in the ground. While the banner is planted in dirt or earth, it is immune to lightning damage. You can remove the banner from the ground as a bonus action on your subsequent turns. I decided I loved painting skeletons when I painted the banner of my Stormcast Eternal Lord-Relictor. This fellow is using one as a banner and is waving him around above his head as if he’s no heavier than a scrap of cloth.

GRIME TIME. Varnished the model with Vallejo Gloss and let it cure properly. I airbrushed Ammo by Mig Streaking Grime, waited about ten minutes, and cleaned it up about as much as I could with makeup sponges and no thinner. After a day I sealed it with Vallejo Premium Satin airbrush varnish.

This section details some optional rules that DMs can use with hordes. They cover a variety of situations, from interactions with effects that can affect many creatures to individual creatures that survive the destruction of a horde. Area of Effects and Many Targets The fact they are so small and fiddly will make the Skeleton Warriors a serious challenge for the recently initiated. In these circumstances we can either choose to round up or down when determining how many creatures succeed or, if its a big enough bonus, we can change it from one in four succeeding to one in eight or one in ten if things are going against them or one in two if they have advantage. Skeleton Horde can be used as a base color for the mechanical skeletons and bones that make up their cybernetic enhancements.
