On the surface, it might not be easy to wrap our minds around these ideas. After all, aren't we happier when we're constantly keeping busy, achieving things and in pursuit of something better? Yes, perhaps, at least for some of the time, this might appear true. Shortly after the hives manifested, I began exploring the lessons my body was trying to teach me. I have come to understand that this experience is another opportunity to bring more awareness to myself in this moment and to accept that I am exactly where I need to be. When I embrace these opportunities to learn more about myself, my needs, and my body instead of ignoring the lessons or wishing they would just stop, I feel more empowered and hopeful.

Interestingly another cause of stress lies inside our own minds. Research has uncovered that our minds tend to drift and wander approximately 46% of the time (often referred to as mind-wandering states or the monkey mind). You never fail unless you don’t even try. It’s not just about attaining the goal but who you became in the process of the pursuit of the goal itself. Granted, in some ways, it makes absolutely no sense.Especially if you're going through a terrible illness, or a tough time at work, or a breakdown of a relationship. When we are able to recognize that we are exactly where we need to be, we are able to deepen our appreciation of the moment, recognize the profound beauty of our experience, and open to all there is to learn in the present moment. Indeed, surrendering so willingly to the experience is a deeply nurturing and empowering choice. Finally, a more controversial one that cuts both ways: you have no plan. In one sense this should make you completely at ease with where you are because you have no comparative for your current situation. However, this is often tempered by point number two. You have a deeper, unfulfilled ambition and rather than pursuing it, are allowing yourself to be buffeted by the winds of chance. So if you aren’t where you thought you would or should be by this time in your life, I invite you to celebrate where you are now and the journey you have been on this far. Everything you have been through up until now has been preparing you to fully live your life’s purpose.

After working that job I disliked, I decided I wasn’t in the right place, physically or psychologically. There is a powerful flow that begins to happen at home and at work, that comes from knowing wherever you are, is exactly where you should be. I particularly love this line of Exactly. I believe that when we entertain the idea that we may actually need to be exactly where we are for our growth and healing, we may be more willing to pay attention to the lessons along the way. We may also slow down, take a deep breath and allow the process to unfold instead of judging and criticizing ourselves and the experience. When we do there is the potential to shine brightly and be filled with gratitude and grace, even in challenging situations. And even more exciting, we have the opportunity to nurture ourselves through the process.Kute is a next generation world leader out to awaken millions to Love and to Live their inspired destiny. When we’re constantly being flooded with other people’s highlight reels, we start to feel like our own accomplishments aren’t enough. They are. I’ve been running a startup for the last two years, and it has been among the most humbling and hardest things I’ve ever done. How often do we think we are not where we are supposed to be, not doing what we are supposed to do, not feeling like we are supposed to feel? If you don’t like where you are now you have the power to change it! Just because you made your bed doesn’t mean you have to lie in it. You can remake your life at any moment, if you choose. Let’s face it, I’m just not [fill in the blank], [fill in the blank], or [fill in the blank] enough — I’ll never get ahead. Wow — we can be hard on ourselves … or is it just me?

It’s not that you’re in the wrong place per se (as we’ll explore shortly), but consider the following smoke signals: When we aren't present in our relationships at home and at work, our relationships can go down the road of routine and slip into auto-pilot mode. Auto-pilot mode and routines helps us master our lives to make them easier to manage, but in turn this can prevent us from welcoming change and uncertainty which are ever increasing realities of both business and life. In other words, regardless of whether you're satisfied or unsatisfied with your life, or experiencing immense happiness or working through an extremely difficult situation, that any and ALL of these experiences are exactly where you should be? This also really marked the first time regular people connected with celebrities; suddenly you might “know” someone linked to a famous singer or actor, and your connection could be apparent to others and elevate your own status. This is also when the word “friend” began to lose its currency. We started calling everyone – even people we’d never met before – a “friend.”

In Traffic: Exactly Where You Need to Be

We get older. Careers change. We move homes. We fall in love multiple times. Priorities and goals shift. Bring awareness to the effects of how you may cling to what once was or what is expected to be and how current levels of happiness fluctuate. Let go of lofty expectations, perceived outcomes, and a fixed mindset to open the doors for embracing change. Who knows, you may be surprised as to what you discover? 6) Forgiveness. Be kind.
