About this deal
The ginger gives it a slight edge and modernity, but mostly this is a tamed fragrance for a masculine but gentle man. The fragrance opens with an impressive and sophisticated combination of spicy and woody
Someone mentioned old fashioned shaving cream, yes, I am reminded somewhat of that as well which allows me to believe this could be a unisex fragrance. Tried this on at Macy's and at first sniff, I scrunched my nose in dislike from the very strong citrus (bergamot) opening. This one is my husband's signature, he wore it when we first met and I was blown away by its uniqueness and softness. I'm starting to think that they are doing that on purpose, as a trademark, and in all honesty their products are, mostly, so good out of the box (bottle) that it kind of makes sense. I haven't found anything similar unfortunately, so as long as I can find this, I will always treasure a bottle. I believe it’s much softer and quite a bit less woody or spicy than the notes on this page would suggest. I repeat, it won't make you smell macho, or a playa, or smooth or whatever adjectives millennials can think of describing a playboy or whatnot.
Ted Baker fragrances were made in collaboration with perfumers Julie Pluchet, Alain Astori, Sophie Labbe and Jean-Charles Niel. This luxurious set includes everything you need to exude self-confidence, allure, charisma, and sex-appeal. I do get, especially in the drydown, a nice dose of wisteria, acacia which, to me, smells like honey, and flax. The drydown is wonderful, powdery, sweet and spicy, reminding me of a grown-up version of Love's Baby Soft. On my skin, the opening smells very clean, astringent almost (this is the unfriendly ginger note on me). From then I cannot stop associating this wonderfull smell with beautifull evenings in the middle of my entire family.
