About this deal

I think this used to be his go-to keyboard for composing when travelling, and he features it in a number of videos. Xkey relies on a Micro-USB port for both connectivity and power, which is great if you're using it with a laptop.

And for the many for whom keyboards are only a very occasional instrument used for minor supporting parts, it’s great to have the option of something that takes up so little of your working space whilst still offering good functionality. Personally, I couldn’t stop toying around with Moog’s Model 15 and the Xkey air for nearly a week straight. Let's acknowledge how inspiring it is to have this keyboard sit on the desk just like a second computer keyboard, while it's ready to enter notes, play library sounds through Kontakt, etc. When a note is pressed, the whole key depresses rather than angling downwards like a traditional keybed. The controller also provides pressure sensitive Pitch Bend and Modulation buttons, Octave +/- push buttons and Sustain button, activity indicator LED and robust, high-quality aluminium body that has the same finish as a MacBook. The cord does not go all the way into the port so that a portion of the metal part is exposed, and this seriously weakens the port and causes it to be very easily damaged.

With a slim design, at just over 1/2″ high (16mm) and weighing just 600g it is fully portable, and made for travelers and mobile users.io) with Chromebooks, and I could teach a Music Technology class (SoundTrap, Soundation, Noteflight, Flat. It can change a whole bunch of internal settings, even allowing the velocity curve to be redrawn, and it updates the firmware as needed. So, if you want to connect another BLE MIDI device (such as the JamStik+ or the PUC+), turn off the XKey Air, turn on the JamStik+, and plug in the WIDI BUD. I followed the instructions and paired the keyboard with my iPad Pro and received a warning from garage band that there may be some latency. There should be a switch to make it just USB so that if you are not going to be using the keyboard for a period of time or just want to recharge the battery, you can switch over and use that mode instead of using the Bluetooth connection.
