I sowed batches of four seeds of 'Apricot Lemonade' in 7cm pots on the windowsill in April, moved them into a sheltered spot outside when they came through and then planted out the potfuls, without breaking them up, at the end of May. My favourite plant in our container trial last summer and autumn, flowering away in a pot outside my kitchen window. The dovetailed, peachy outer petals draw your eyes inward, past a ring of mauve and into the yellow center–you can imagine how this beauty seduces native pollinators with ease! Blooming for months from midsummer to fall, the ravishing blossoms are borne on sturdy, upright stems above the finely-divided foliage of bright green leaves.
