About this deal

In addition, there are two internal trim pots that offer user-adjustable width and rate control of the modulation for even more tonal options. It will gleam on your pedal board under stage lights and make most other pedals look a bit dull, with it’s bright-blue On/Off and ‘MOD’ LEDs it will demand your attention even more.

Flip the Regen and Mix to max, and fiddle with the delay knob a bit, and you've walked clean into noise-laden basement show bliss. The MXR M169 Carbon Copy Analog Delay is a contemporary delay pedal with roots deeply planted in the classic tape echo tones of the past. It gives me the charming pleasure of warm, wobbling, floating delay sounds with decreasing volume to the end of the delay time. Even when set to max for some more chaotic feedbacking sounds, the tone stays warm and true, echoing the glow of an old tape delay. The Carbon Copy is already a firm favourite in the guitar pedal world and this Deluxe version just gives you that much more control over your delays and repeats. So the solution is to put the CC in the (parallel) FX loop, so the distortion comes before the delay.

To add further character and texture to your repeats, just hit the Mod switch and use the Speed and Width controls to shape the chorusing to your taste.

Thought the 'mod' button would be a bit of a gimic but having tried it I think it really adds something and I generally leave it on. Being an analog (and true-bypass) pedal, the Carbon Copy will bring its subtle nuances to your tone. I was amazed by how naturally this pedals sits in the mix with a full band and also how it plays well with other pedals.

MXR that laid the groundwork for some of the most popular effects circuits of all time, and their commitment to no-nonsense analog tone shines through with the Carbon Copy.It is not the most versatile delay pedal out there, but It is sure to add some beautiful ambience to your playing and thicken up your guitar solos. With twice as much delay time and tap tempo functionality with four different subdivisions, you now have more control over your Carbon Copy repeats than ever.

With almost double the amount of delay time on offer than the majority of analog delays on the market and a simple yet effective modulation switch, the MXR Carbon Copy Delay goes the extra mile. The Carbon Copy Analog Delay delivers rich, warm bucket-bridgade delay with up to 600ms of delay time and modulation. The Carbon Copy Bright, while not as atmospheric, produces a much brighter delay sound, more true to the input signal. It also has pretty sick self-oscillation going on, which always amazes me and never gets out of control! In addition, the DM-2W has the ability to split the wet and dry signals and has expression pedal support for controlling delay time. As a fan of analog tone, I’ve always loved the decaying repeats of a nice, warm analog delay but I’ve always felt let down by short delay times or overly-muddy tone.
