On the main disc, we start with the touching short film that unreeled before Inside Out in theaters, the island-themed Lava (7:12). A few things here would have been fun to see in the movie, but the evolution of Joy's character from what's seen in these early attempts was hugely important. And though Kaling, Hader and Black all are well cast for their own characters and the emotions the represent, Smith as Sadness is just perfect, giving Poehler an excellent foil and nailing the concept of sadness in a way that manages to not feel excessive. This is a partially successful Pixar comedy which about the various (anthropomorphised) emotions that control the mind of an eleven-year old girl.

Emotions run wild in the mind of a little girl who is uprooted from her peaceful life in the Midwest and forced to move to San Francisco in this Pixar adventure. Remember" (1:38) represents the core five emotions in the film with a montage of clips from the rest of Pixar's films, before introducing the characters, while "Experience" (2:19) is a more plot-based promo. With that mindset, Insight Out, the story of how the mind of a young girl changes with adolescence, was a shot directly to the heart. Young Riley's had a pretty great life in Minnesota, playing hockey and enjoying time with her parents, which has made for an easy life for Joy (Amy Poehler), the emotion that rules Riley's life. The tone was awfully downbeat for much of the movie, and I got fed up with Sadness being such a drag.In his spare time, he enjoys watching hockey, writing and spending time with his wife, daughter and puppy. Everyone has a story about life, growing up and feeling the pain of losing a friend whose family uprooted and left to parts-unknown.

Fans of Pixar are certainly going to love this as it's another winner that manages to work no matter what your age is.

Easy to follow, good exercises and I feel a real difference and my pelvic floor seems much stronger. This is an area of filmmaking most people never think about, and this featurette shines a bit of light on its difficulty and importance.It's also the way the film represents the changes that maturation brings inside the mind and that which is lost as childhood is left behind, with Riley's one-time imaginary friend Bing Bong perfectly personifying the unfortunate by-products of growing up. The human characters are also quite entertaining and there's no doubt that the Bing Bong character will go down as a favorite decades from now. Venturing into the mind of a girl growing up presents a realm of psychological possibilities and Pixar thankfully explores every nook and cranny. However, after a slight mishap at Headquarters, the situation gets out of hand, causing Riley's emotional state to worsen. And everyone needs to be on point for Riley’s big change of moving from Minnesota to California, a massive shifting of worlds given how her favorite memories involve playing hockey on the lake.

That said, there are some clever ideas here; I liked the memory-balls and the whole notion of a library of old recollections. Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who've long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren't sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up.
