If you’ve seen his YouTube video about similar topics alot of this is the same, and on a similar level.

We also believe we can make your local gymnastics club a centre for your family’s recreational time during any week. It’s fantastic to invest in great businesses but even better when they deliver such a positive impact to the members and local communities. Nile talks through how he rapidly rose to gymnastics stardom; his views on gymnastics coaching; the enormous battles he faced with injury which eventually forced him into retirement; his battles with gambling and mental health issues; his family; and how he successfully moved into business. Nile Wilson is England's most successful gymnast at a Commonwealth Games - he won 5 gold medals in 2018. Nile Wilson is known to many as a Great Britain Gymnast who won a Bronze Medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics and who is England's most successful ever gymnast at a Commonwealth Games following his 5 medals in 2018.People often presume to know so much about Nile due to his huge online audience, but this book will shatter that perception.

This book is a guide for anyone new to the sport and will show just how easy it is to get and stay fit using gymnastics. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. We also use them to help detect unauthorized access or activity that violate our terms of service, as well as to analyze site traffic and performance for our own site improvement efforts. I was taken aback by some of the chapters in this book, particularly those surrounding his struggles with alcohol and gambling, and the trouble with Leeds Gymnastics club and British Gymnastics.I really felt Nile’s passion for his career and family and found it refreshingly honest in terms of addiction and mental health. My main criticism of the book was the writing style, the language was really clunky and I struggled to imagine Nile reading it aloud. We have some very talented people working throughout our organisation and the months and years ahead will be hugely exciting. Nile Wilson is known to many as a Great Britain Gymnast who won a Bronze Medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics and who is England’s most successful ever gymnast at a Commonwealth Games following his 5 medals in 2018. Nile Wilson – My Story gives an unprecedented look into Nile’s entire journey in and out of gymnastics.

As a fan of Nile's YouTube channel, I was initially concerned this would be a bare-bones retelling of what he already shares online alongside his friends and family, but I was pleasantly surprised. When I first started reading this book, I thought I was going to get an idea of what it took to be a top class gymnast. Wilson, a British Olympic medalist, would gather his friends and family and shoot videos of them competing in various gymnastics-based challenges in a variety of environments. Nile Wilson – My Story gives an unprecedented look into Nile’s true battle to be fit and ready for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics - throughout the Games and the aftermath. This book will shatter that perception, and reveal the struggles behind the smiles, from the brutal reality of performing at an elite sporting level, to the mental health battles Nile has had to fight - and continues to fight - every day.

Having managed Nile for the last few years I have had the privilege of being involved in this project from idea to our first site in Rotherham. It wasn't the most gripping and, as with many memoirs/auto biographies, it wasn't written perfectly, but despite that it was thoroughly enjoyable. The down-to-earth Olympic medalist tells the story of the pressures and mental health struggles behind his successful gymnastic career. All roads lead to home and I am now using all the incredible knowledge from that work across our clubs. I liked that it wasn't "me" centered, like many autobiographies by young people (24 yrs when written) Wilson is very much a fan of not just gymnastics but is very humble to the help that he achieved in his career and wants to pay it back. Overall, the book was more revealing than I expected but that might be more to do with not really knowing much about Nile other than him being a ridiculously talented athlete.
