About this deal

If you’re looking for a glass mouse pad, Skypad’s Mousepad 3.0 is an excellent option. You already know I’m inexplicably in love with the Razer Atlas, and the Mousepad 3.0 is, frankly, very, very similar in feel and performance. My two main concerns with the Atlas were its size, because it felt just a little too large to be easily incorporated in most desk setups, and its durability — mostly because Razer warns against using soap or harsh cleaning agents to clean the Atlas’s surface, likely to prevent removal of the oleophobic coating. This method involves using the hairdryer to heat up the glue underneath the mouse feet. Once the glue has been heated long enough, use a spudger (a flat plastic tool with a sharp end) or a knife to scrape underneath the feet to peel them off — be careful if using a knife! Something else that can get annoying is the sound. When you swipe and put down your mouse on a cloth pad you might hear a muted thud that doesn’t really bother anyone, but the SkyPAD is definitely a loud one. It’s not as loud as someone who’s going to town on a glass cutting board or anything like that, but if someone was using this near me while I was trying to work or relax it would definitely bother me. That’s doesn’t necessarily have something to do with the performance of the product, but it’s something to keep in mind if you’ve got housemates to consider. For your protection, some spend limits apply to each SIM card on your account. If you have multiple SIMs, higher total charges may be incurred. You can manage the spend on your Sky Mobile account via sky.com. Lots of stuff to consider, in other words, but that’s just how it is with glass pads. It comes with advantages (such as the fact that it will never wear down; something that isn’t true for cloth pads) but also disadvantages, and there’s no way around that. SkyPAD 3.0 Review – Conclusion

The pad itself is nicely finished. The edges are rounded and don’t feel sharp anywhere, the surface itself feels extremely smooth and natural to the touch, and the whole surface is perfectly level. Obviously this isn’t a very portable mousepad, so if you’re someone who is always gaming in different locations you should really consider if it’s worth the hassle to transport it all the time, but if you decide that it is you can rest assured that it’s decently sturdy. I didn’t throw it to the floor or anything, but I treated it like I would any regular (hard) mousepad and it stood up to that just fine. The SkyPAD 3.0 is the fastest pad I’ve ever tested, and if you are looking for a frictionless gliding experience this could really be it. It does come with a number of caveats, however. The pad’s hard and extremely smooth surface is completely unforgiving towards inconsistencies, be it with your mouse skates or your surface (think hairs, dander, …) so you will want to keep a cloth handy. Make sure it’s not a wet cloth, though, since the surface obviously won’t handle humidity very well due to the fact that it can’t absorb any of it. And last, but not least, it’s also a very loud mousepad. It’s not that bad when just gliding around with your mouse, but if you’re often resetting your mouse after swiping there’s definitely a lot of noise going on. The only minor downside is it once suddenly informed me that programmes were not available and to try again later. Sky tried to be helpful (their customer service is superb) but they suggested there was a global technical problem. The following day I found the same message and felt sky should have informed me that to delete the app and reinstall it via the app store would have solved the problem. I wasted hours to find this out by myself and to clear this error but it now works fine. Royal Caribbean has a wide variety of water slides that can offer the perfect mix of thrills and relaxation. Since then I've preferred to go padless on a XXL wooden table I built and painted myself at the time, whose surface I actually expected having to repaint periodically, but it's held up just fine so far. And in terms of thermal conductivity and touch comfort wood is very hard to beat.Skypad’s regular Mousepad 3.0 is a much more manageable size. It’s quite a bit smaller than the Atlas, and is what most people would probably consider a “standard” or medium-sized mouse pad. Because it’s glass, it doesn’t feel quite as small as a similarly-sized cloth mouse pad, since smaller swipes go further. It’s also not quite as smooth as the Atlas, so I did find myself moving my mouse over a larger area than I did with the Atlas (but still smaller than with a non-glass mouse pad). What I’m trying to say is that if you’re used to larger mouse pads, you’ll probably still have an adjustment period if you move down — the Mousepad 3.0’s glass surface doesn’t completely negate the size. With a little preparation and some simple steps, you can enjoy better control and performance like the pros. Are you looking for an unforgettable adventure while on your next cruise? Wi-Fi calling will not work if the broadband connection fails or it loses power. You should keep a fixed line for emergency calls and never rely solely on Wi-Fi calling for these (only use Wi-Fi calling as a last resort). The SkyPAD is the most expensive mousepad I’ve ever tested, and with an MSRP of a whopping 120 dollars there’s not a lot of room for error with this product. You can use the spudger or knife on its own without using the hairdryer, especially if you're unsure of how long to heat the feet up by. This may leave traces of glue on the bottom of the mouse however, which will need to be removed before attaching the new mouse feet. But I do notice that my gaming kids all seem to use pads on their wooden tables, so I guess in a professionally competitive environment you need to trade comfort for precision and speed. Your Sky Mobile services should be available within 24 hours of you activating the SIM card. Details about how to activate your SIM card will be sent with your SIM. Once you have removed all the old skates from the base your mouse, give the surface a clean by using rubbing alcohol (Isopropyl). This will remove any excess adhesive that may still be present. Leave the mouse to dry, and then it's time to apply the new ones.

You can roam in the Republic of Ireland at no extra cost, but International calls and texts charges from the UK to the Republic of Ireland still apply. Once you have your replacement mouse skates in hand, it's now time to remove your old ones from the base of the mouse. There are a few different methods to do this, but we’ll cover the main, most reliable method (in our opinion): Data usage, calls and texts to and from the Isle of Man and Channel Islands (Jersey, Guernsey and Ascension Island) are included as part of your UK allowance. The best part? If you’re a Sky TV customer, Sky Go is part of your subscription, so there is no extra cost! Before applying the grip tape, it is essential to clean your mouse to remove any dirt or oils that may interfere with the grip tape's adhesion. Use a soft cloth and rubbing alcohol to gently clean the surface of your mouse, taking care not to damage the coating. Make sure to remove all the dirt and oil residues, especially around the edges of your mouse.

A glass mouse pad is not the stupidest thing you could spend $100 on.

The SkyPAD 3.0 is built for speed, and our testing and my personal experiences can attest to the fact that the brand has succeeded on this front. This is without a doubt the fastest pad I’ve ever laid my hands on. If you keep your fingers off of the surface itself, it almost feels as if your mouse is gliding in thin air. There’s really nothing stopping your mouse except for your own hands, and that’s a feeling that takes some getting used to.
