About this deal

For those who upgrade to the 25 Plus, there’s the option to access extra cables, ear pads, and a bonus carry pouch. Build Quality Notably, the channel balance in these headphones is good, but you do need to ensure that you’ve got the position of the cans just right over your ears.

With a low weight and a one-ear listening option, the HD25 headphones from Sennheiser are a must-have for most DJs and studio owners. Created with a focus on exceptional performance, the HD25 headphones are unlike anything else on the market. If like most pros, you fall in love with the technology after you’ve tried it, then you could always look into buying some accessories too. The HD-25 headphones have never been considered comfortable headphones for extended listening sessions. They are fine up to the 3-4 hour mark but you would want to take a break for 15 minutes or so before continuing. The main reason for this is also what makes them so good at isolating you from your external environment. That is the clamping force. The Sennheiser has a very strong clamping force that binds them tightly to your head and that combined with the on-ear earpads can cause pressure build-up. It really drove me nuts and I had to replace them. Since I was mad at Sennheiser I went with a different brand, at which time I learned that I really like a coiled, detachable cable with ONE connection point, and that I prefer over-ear cups to on-ear. I still think that this should be a short article but that doesn’t mean that I shouldn’t let my excitement show. The excitement right from the first time I listened to the 25 ALU, it’s like first love to the HD25 all over again. Yes the difference is slight, but boy, the improvement produces the legendary HD25-1 sound and makes it even better. For those of you familiar with the DT770 LE review, this review is pretty much going to take on the same tone. There is more to this anniversary editions, it seems, and I wouldn’t be surprised if like Beyerdynamic, Sennheiser suddenly decided to make this a standard, non limited product on their line up.

Robust and powerful, these headsets have been to go-to choice for many DJs since they first emerged for the consumer market in the late 80s. Before that, the HD25 cans were intended for airline passengers and pilots, to assist with reducing the loud engine noise of the Concorde flights in the 80s. The Sennheiser HD25 headset comes with a powerful and wide frequency range of between 16Hz to 22kHz, so you should expect an accurate monitoring experience. If you have a significant problem with the comfort of these headphones, you can sometimes find custom ear pads elsewhere. The sound quality and durability of these headphones outweigh any other negatives you can think of.

Notable design decisions include the return of the sturdy steel cable which far beats the flimsy cables of the Amperior. The pads are also very much improved. Rather than the soft but brittle alcantara soft leather, Sennheiser now uses a much better quality, softer faux leather than the one found in the standard HD25-1. Likewise the headband pads also use the same leather. The Sennheiser HD25 DJ headphones are a great example of what the brand can produce, with the extra bonus of noise cancellation that can withstand some seriously loud environments. While they look fine, and they’ve got the added bonus of the Sennheiser brand, they don’t look like much.

With a bombproof design and detailed, balanced sound, the Sennheiser HD 25 are difficult to not fall in love with

Although longevity and extremely robust construction are important, you also need to get the style right. It’s also worth giving a shout-out to the Sennheiser’s unique design, which allows you to flip the left can off completely when you’re in the booth, or just swivel the cups according to your needs. Specifications Cable Length The mechanism holding the headband and earcup together can also loosen over time. Style and comfort The HD 25 headset is understated in its style. Though these headphones have been around for decades, they remain timelessly modern and simple, with a clear-cut finish. The headset only weighs about 16g. In your hand, the mostly plastic design feels more like a toy than a professional-grade headset.

Another bonus of the HD 25 headphones is how easy they are to use. As with most headphones in the modern market, the better your audio source, the better your headphones are going to sound. When Rosmadi @Sennheiser handed over the HD 25 ALUMINIUM to me, he specifically mentioned that this is just a minor update Anniversary Edition, and that though there is an improvement gained from applying the Aluminum housing, the difference is marginal. Well that was to be expected, given the fact that everything else is the same except for the application of Aluminium for the housing material — following the footsteps of the Amperior. Based on his comment, I told him right there that I probably can’t write much about the headphone as I don’t think that there is much to be talked about and he understood and gave me the nod.The HD 25 Light headphones are missing the rotatable ear cup and split headband with the single-side cable design of the standard HD 25 headset. Balanced and reliable, the Sennheiser HD25 doesn’t add any extra spice to your sound. This is perfect if you’re looking for something that’s pure, accurate, and reliable. The styling of the headphones is very understated in the modern age. It’s a good-looking headphone but is certainly not a designer headphone. It follows an ethos of form over function and to many this may seem a little boring. Despite being extremely affordable, HD 25 headsets offer an insanely accurate and detailed sound with a balanced response. It’s only after you use the HD 25 headset for a while that you discover just how amazing they are. The plastic really won’t break – no matter how much you bend or bash it.
