About this deal

The Mangird Top has excellent technical performance. It has excellent detail retrieval, imaging, and soundstage. The IEM is also very well-tuned, with no noticeable peaks or dips in the frequency response. While seemingly reserved and critically positioned in replay……………..the Kiwi ears Orchestra Lite is anything but lite. Upon opening the box, you are greeted with the Orchestra Lite earphones securely nestled in protective foam padding, with the model name prominently displayed. Beneath the foam cradle, an inner compartment houses a selection of accessories and a small zippered carrying case. The earphones are accompanied by a white-colored, 4-braid oxygen-free copper cable that is supple, light and relatively thin.

A molded shell for an ergonomic fit is also evident, observing how it’s curved across all dimensions. It’s nothing out of the ordinary, but nevertheless, very professionally finished. For the bass, they have used 2 of the newest full-size Sonion dual subwoofer BA drivers which try to amplify the lows. Two Knowles ultra-high frequency BA drivers were also used to ensure extended treble, bringing out detail and air. Having reviewed a lot of great equipment recently, I’m conscious I’m repeating myself when I say this pair of IEMs helped me enjoy discovering new details in my music, enjoying old favorites in a new way. Most of the time, when this happens, it’s one aspect of the sound signature that grabs my attention. With the Kiwi Ears, there were distinctive qualities that revealed themselves across the frequency spectrum. I paired these iems with Moondrop Moonriver Ti 2 and I can say they do definitely sound so much better than any iem that I have or have owned before. The quality of the sound, the texture, clarity and tonality are very apparent and noticeable to me. They are very comfortable to wear and lightweight. The cable does not produce any noticeable microphonic noise and has 3 types of connection, 3.5 single ended, 4.4mm and 2.5mm balanced connector. To ensure the best performance for the entire lifespan of the IEM, each Kiwi Ears unit undergoes two rounds of quality control inspection by engineers, including frequency matching for both, the left and right channels. Each unit is handcrafted with care and attention to detail by a team of engineers. Overall, the Kiwi Ears Orchestra Lite is a well-made IEM that looks and feels like a much more expensive IEM. The Orchestra Lite has a safe and relaxed treble response that conceals very good internal detail retrieval. The upper treble is less extended than I would like, and there is limited air. The Orchestra Lite does respond well to equalization in this region, but other IEMs in the same price range like the SeeAudio Bravery are going to have more up-front resolution. The soundstage is adequate but is less expansive than I would have expected given the number of BAs used per housing. The Orchestra Lite’s bass response is warm and ample, contributing to the overall smoothness of the sound signature. The sub-bass region is elevated, but a noticeable air gap approaching the lower mids ensures that the warmth is well controlled. The twin woofer balanced armatures (BAs) perform admirably, delivering a bass that is adequately fast. The quantity of silicone ear tips is more than adequate for the price. Kiwi Ears provides us with 9 pairs of tips that have a normal-sized bore. Personally, I would have liked the variety of eartips to include not only normal bore tips but also 3 pairs of wide bore tips and 3 pairs of narrow bore tips to allow for more customization. In my analysis, I ended up using different eartips (wide bore ones) which helped enhance treble definition and slightly widen the soundstage.

In addition, the Orchestra Lite employs a three-way passive crossover, utilizing five independent passive components. This design enhances the sound quality and minimizes total harmonic distortion. The monitor comes with a lightweight 2-pin 4-braid oxygen-free copper cable, designed for comfort during both stage performances and portable use.Sub-bass extension is excellent, the earphone can easily reproduce the lowest of the tones without any artificial boost but you shouldn't expect rumbling and thundering bass. The more I listened, the more I liked this set of IEMs. The box is a tight fit for the cable and IEMs. Where to Buy For the review you’re reading today, I’ve been using a complex setup of sources, to get the best idea of how KIWI Ears Orchestra Lite sounds like, including Hiby R6 III, Astell & Kern ACRO CA1000T, IKKO ITB03 Heimdallr, Shanling M3 Ultra, iBasso DC03PRO, HIFI Walker H2 Touch, Khadas Tea, Shanling UA5, and Mechen M30. The sound of Orchestra Lite be described as clean, detailed, deep, with a W shaped signature, where the bass is uplifted, the upper bass and lower midrange is not super uplifted, but the midrange is somewhat forward, then the upper midrange is not super metallic or shrill, or too forward, but there is a peak in the treble that gives cymbals and hi hats some extra energy to sound engaging and dynamic / punchy.
